cyprus mind Triathlon camp march 2022
In March 2022 we will host two weeks of First class triathlon training! Road bikers are just as welcome and it will be lots of biking.
First week 5-12th of March it will be approx 20h training where we will fokus more on the basics, technique, Training plans and how to get into half and full distance Ironman racing.
Second Week 12-19th of March it will be approx 30h training with fokus on finding speed and endurance to set your new PR.
Mind Triathlon have a long experience of arranging camps. We have had camps since 2017 in Sweden, Mallorca and Lanzarote so far, and will now expand to Cyprus.
Maria, Fredrik and Claes has all been doing triathlon over 10 years, been leders of many different camps and arranged our own Tricamps for a couple of years. We all have done multiple Ironman races and qalified for both 70.3 world champs and been to KONA. We think the cornerstones of a Camp is Having fun, get new inspiration, learn new things and train with Others in a relaxed atmosphere. Maria and Fredrik has been living in Cyprus since Oktober 2021 and is the Head coaches.
The base of the camp will be at Amphora Hotel in beautiful Kato Paphos. Here we got five minuets to the Ocean were we will do our Open water swim training. Only a few km´s and we are out on the small deserted roads in the hills and countryside with almost no cars. We got the Long Beachwalk to do our runs in the afternoon sun. Cafés, restaurants and shops just around the corner.
We will be well taken care of at the Amphora hotel and we stay in big Deluxe Apartments. One bedroom with twin bed and a living room with a extra bed, so when you share you can have separate bedrooms. The bathroom has a spacious walk in shower and a bathtub. Of course there is also a balcony with ocean view were you can enjoy the famous sunsets. You will enjoy Half-board were we all fill up the energi at breakfast and supper Buffetts.
Both weeks focus will be on bike. We will divide the gang into smaller groups for every ride. You can choose your self what group you want for the day. The roads are nice and the views is so worth the climbs. We have the costal rods that are kind of flat were we enjoy the ocean views. Roads up the hills that gives strong legs and will make us break some sweat. Once up it is rolling hills and time to enjoy the scenery of mountains, wineries, goats, small mountain villages and views that demand photoshops. On longer Climbes it will be free speed to the summit where we loop back to gather the group. When it's time to head back home the descents guaranteed puts a big smile on your face.
For the Swim we usually go before breakfast and will do the sessions in Openwater, bring your wetsuit (water temp approx 17-19 Degress). There will be Warm up, drills, speed work, technique and endurance sessions. The swims will be around 20-40 minuets.
We will of course do some running. We will focus on the brick runs. After all that is what we do on race day and the only way to find your running legs after bike is to do Brick sessions. There will be some runs that are not directly after bike.
After the last session of the day we gather for a stretch and enjoy a nice recovery drink or a cold Coca Cola. All sessions are Voluntary, if you want a break or a day of you just inform us.
PRICE 890 euro ( 8900 sek ) per week.

What bike to choose ??
You are best of on a road bike with a big cassette 11-30 isch or compact krank. The hills are not so step but they can be long so it is nice to have a big spann of gears to choose from. Disc brakes is nice but aluminium rims works fine. You can go on your Tribike but avoid high profile wheels and carbonfiber brakes.
You can bring your own bike or rent one here. We will help you to a good price and a top bike from Agis at Ride Easy. His shop also has everything you need for your bike and his mechanic is very competent if you have some bike issues.
What week fits me ??
The First week 5-12 is not extreme in any way. If you train on regular basis and is ok whit Openwater swim, bike rides up to 2-3 hours and run 5-10 km you will be good. There will be plenty of support and we divide the group on the sessions. The fastest in this week will do a Full Ironman distance in 13 hours or more and a 70.3 distance in 6 hours or more.
The second Week 12-19 will be more and faster of everything. You are well familiar in Triathlon and used to long days. To fit in the group you should be able to do Full Ironman distance under 12-13 hours or 70.3 under 6 hours.
Not a Triathlet? If you are a biker and would like to enjoy many hours of scenery and climbing, you are more than happy to join us. You can sleep a little bit longer in the morning- while the other go for a swim and you can take a longer bike ride on you’re own, or just relax during the run.
